Key Players and Base Prices

The long list will be reviewed by the franchises, and the final list will be trimmed down accordingly. As per reports, big names like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, all former captains of their respective IPL franchises, have been listed with a base price of Rs 2 crore. The two seasoned spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, also have a base price of Rs 2 crore after being released by Rajasthan Royals.

Several Indian cricketers with a high base price of Rs 2 crore include James Anderson (who has never played in the IPL), Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, T Natarajan, Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav.

Base Price of Rs 75 Lakhs for Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw

Both Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw, promising talents in Indian cricket, have set their base price at Rs 75 lakh. This is an interesting move, considering the high demand for uncapped players with immense potential.

James Anderson and the Unexpected Entries

While Stokes is absent from the list, England’s legendary pacer James Anderson, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, has entered the auction at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore. Anderson has never played in the IPL, but his name is sure to attract attention given his remarkable career in Test cricket.

Another surprise inclusion is Italy's Thomas Draca, who was recently signed by MI Emirates for the ILT20 in the UAE. This highlights the growing international presence in the IPL, even from lesser-known cricketing nations.

The Auction Process

The IPL 2025 auction will likely be an exciting event with plenty of surprises, given the array of talent, both Indian and international, available. The auction is expected to bring in several star players, and it will be interesting to see which franchises are willing to spend big to bolster their squads for the upcoming season.
